The dream was a last minute winner from captain fantastic Steven Gerrard, preferably a half volley. With arms aloft, running over to the Liverpool fans who have sang his name throughout his career. The reality was a 6-1 drubbing to Stoke City, with a knackered Gerrard looking like he wished he was already in first class on the way to LA Galaxy.
He did grab a goal though. This is what Twitter had to say about the matter…
Good old Gary Lineker was nice though:
One thing’s for sure – it’s going to be weird next season seeing a Liverpool team without a Steven Gerrard in it!
