John Terry Says He’ll Never Play For Another Club Than Chelsea
Love him or hate him. Adore him or despise him. John Terry is pretty hard to ignore this season as he captains table-toppers Chelsea whilst seemingly getting better with age. Terry has been an absolute rock in the heart of Chelsea’s defence this season but even the man himself admits he doesn’t know where he stands with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Terry said: “The manager has come in, sat me down, and made it clear if you work hard you will get extra years and you will play, but if not there are others players who are younger who can play and will fight for their place.
“This is a one year roll-on deal. I am fighting for my future, for my family’s future and I want to give it everything.
“I don’t know how long I have left. Hopefully I have a few years yet but if this is my last year then I hope it will go out on a bang.
The Chelsea skipper isn’t taking anything for granted after Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard were allowed to leave at the end of their contracts, although Chelsea officials pass off the new contract as a formality. The 34 year-old skipper seemingly unsure went on to reveal that if his contract isn’t renewed at Stamford Bridge – he will simply quit football remaining a one-club man throughout his career.
“No, I wouldn’t play for another club and I also think there’s a right time to go as well.”
Will Chelsea offer Terry a new contract or are we set to see a shock departure? The evidence would suggest, contrary to the Chelsea skipper’s ‘he loves me, he loves me not’ paranoia – that we won’t seeing the back of the controversial defensive stalwart just yet.
